A new address for the Super Sub |
Super Sub Peter June Simon, the reigning PBA All-Star Game MVP, launches his new website. In the collaborative efforts of IQuadrant Interactive and Simonatics08, PJ's official fans club, a far better, more content-rich, more organized website was birthed. The URL of the website is www.PeterJuneSimon.com.
The new website is a gift by the Club on his 28th birthday.
Based on a study, it was deemed that the website will only feature six top-level sections: Profile, News and Stories, Photo Gallery, Guestbook, Multimedia, and Simonatics08.
The Profile section contains PJ Simon's Biography, Career Highlights, Stats and Splits, and By The Numbers. Biography extensively showcases PJ's personal and professional life. Career Highlights chronicles PJ's basketball career since his MBA days, although when research is finished, even his collegiate exploits will be included as well. Stats and Splits presents PJ's numbers every game. A more extensive presentation is in the offing. By The Numbers displays PJ's personal best (conference, season, and career) in sixteen different statistical categories. Two other sub-sections are currently being developed.
The News and Stories section, news and feature stories about PJ Simon are readily available. The Gameday subsection presents literature on the up and coming games of Purefoods TJ Giants.
The Photo Gallery displays pictures of Super Sub taken every official game (when logistically possible), at the practice, and from other functions and activities in which he was a part of.
The Guestbook affords the family, relatives, teammates, friends, colleagues, fans and supporters of PJ Simon to send in their inspiring messages. Such will have to be screened so that spasm and other unwanted messages will not be appearing online.
In the Multimedia section, videos, audios, podcasts, and downloadables such as screensavers and wallpapers will be accessed. As of press time, only the Wallpapers subsection is available.
Last but not least, the Simonatics08 section. The history, officers and directory of the club, gallery of fan pictures, and Simonatic of the Month will be presented.
The Club hopes that the new website will further inspire Super Sub PJ Simon to continue striving for excellence in his personal life and professional career for the glory of the Lord.
It is also noteworthy that Peter June Simon is the only PBA player with an official website. |

Galileo's Wine and Cheese Festival |
The situation in the Manila Peninsula Hotel did not prevent Galileo Enoteca Makati from pushing through its Wine and Cheese Festival. Co-sponsored by Eton Parkview Greenbelt, the festival is part of the first anniversary celebration of the Makati branch. Braving the threats of curfew brought about by the Manila Pen drama, a sizable crowd still converged at Galileo, enjoying the flurry of wines, cheeses, cold cuts, pasta, panini and some more.
IQuadrant Interactive was there to cover the events by providing digital photography and content development services. |

Galileo Enoteca celebrates 2nd anniversary |
Having a small deli in the Philippines offering Italian products and good wine selections was just a distant dream for the second-generation Vitranos of Italy. The fact that there was no Italian deli found in Manila, they thought, "Why not build one?"
That innocent wish became a burning ember which through the years was nurtured tenderly. The youthful passion precipitated Vanessa, the eldest in the brood of three, to earn an HRM degree. And using his vast experience as architect, Gaetano captured the Italian spirit in the design concepts of their deli. Hence, the key elements were properly stacked up.
From its humble beginnings Galileo Enoteca has earned a niche as the place where the rich and the famous, the high and the mighty, celebrities and dignitaries, the ordinary people can casually and pleasantly dine together. Try visit the deli anytime of the day and you will find this to be true.
Just a casual walk into the restaurant will overwhelm a visitor. The widest and finest selection of Italian wines neatly adorn the shelves readily evokes the imagination to wander about. The smells and the sights of cold cuts, cheese and pasta are not only decidedly appetizing but effortlessly therapeutic to senses as well.
And last November 20, Galileo feted its loyal friends and patrons during its second anniversary bash. Italian Ambassador to the Philippines, H.E. Rubens Fedele, Signora Cosetta Fedele, TV host & movie actress Lani Mercado, and 2007 Bb. Pilipinas 2nd runner-up Abigail Cruz, were among the more than 100 faces that graced this momentous event. The SRO crowd were treated with never-ending stream of red, white and sparkling wines, Parmigiano Reggiano and many other cheeses, cold cuts, and other delectable items. |

Freedom to Worship: World Christian Gathering on Indigenous People |
By Pio Gabad Arce
The World Christian Gathering on Indigenous People (WCGIP) in Davao City, Philippines 11-17 September 2006 was a cross-pollination of cultures and more. Indigenous people regained their freedom to worship the creator. Drawing more than five hundred representatives of indigenous tribes from twenty-three countries, the gathering became a venue for indigenous peoples worldwide to express themselves freely, using dance and music to show their faith in Jesus Christ. Many lives were touched as a result.
"We are no longer ashamed of who we are," said Rudy Mande, a Matigsalug church leader. His tribe is considered to be the lowliest in southern Philippines. The young man is also a teacher and runs a children's school in his village. He led his students in a performance at the gathering. The experience gave Mande more resolve to teach his people to be proud of their God-given culture. Norlita Colili, a Pala'wan woman also from the Philippines, felt the same way. She said the gathering gave her a desire to revive her dying culture for God's glory. "God impressed to me that by his help, I will organize the few believers in my tribe. We will start using our music, art and other traditions as an offering to God and use it in reaching out to other tribes for Christ."
Reporter Harry Balais observed, "The gathering was a new learning process for me. History books have not reflected the indigenous people's side of the story." He said it gave him an opportunity to know about the Blackfoot, Cree, Navajo, Lakota, Sioux and Mi'kmaq people of North America. "They deserve much, much more. They are the first nation people, after all."
The impact of the gathering in Davao City reached as far as the Arctic region. Diana Brønlund, a Greenlandic woman, was excited about the doors that opened for her at the event. She and another woman danced, chanted and played their native drums. These drums are not allowed in many churches in their region. "I am so thankful [for the] new connections and friendships. It was an unforgettable and rich experience and I really enjoyed it; the weather was a little warm, but we survived."
Monte Ohia, chair and co-founder of WCGIP, is convinced that the impact of the gathering will be felt strongly not only in the Philippines, but also in other parts of the world. "The fires are already burning and things are getting hot, and it will undoubtedly become hotter as time goes on," he remarked.
Ohia also believes that protocol played an important role in the success of the gathering in Davao City. "I feel that in God's heart we did everything right," he said. "We opened with protocola traditional indigenous welcome, a march through the city and a civil reception.
